Postgraduate Course in Art Direction

A graphic designer can work in many fields, but in the competitive field of fashion and luxury you need to have a deep and fundamental understanding of the clean, simple and elegant aesthetic that is the cornerstone of modern luxury. To understand this ”aesthetics of luxury”, the students will be immersed, for a period of four months, in a visual world in which beauty and subtle elegance will prevail. 

Taught by experts of the sector, in the Postgraduate Course in Art Direction the students will learn to create this aesthetics of luxury in their own work. Together with the teachers, the students will be able to professionalize their portfolio, develop new pieces and prepare mood boards for photo sessions. Other activities will include attending a fashion photo shoot, meeting with fashion executives, and benefitting from the reviews and feedback of industry experts. In addition, the students will experience the aesthetics of luxury when visiting and experiencing fashion stores, hotels and cultural institutions.

With a multifaceted educational vision, this course teaches three basic components: the ability to produce clean and elegant graphic designs, a real immersion in the aesthetics of luxury and the fashion business, and the needs of fashion and luxury consumers. With this holistic approach, a deep knowledge of this field will be obtained. Once the students have finished the course, they will have gone from generalist graphic designers to specialists, and will be fully prepared to enter the competitive fashion and luxury industry.




  • Enter the “aesthetics of luxury”, a fundamental creative requirement to become part of this world.
  • Develop a CV and portfolio that demonstrates the aesthetics of fashion and luxury, thanks to critical and curatorial work.
  • See and ”feel”; the particularities of fashion and luxury in their many forms, through fashion photography, assistance in photo sessions, visits and analysis of high-end shops and hotels, analysis of fashion and luxury items, etc.
  • Obtain the necessary preparation to work in such a competitive field as fashion and luxury through meetings with fashion executives and connoisseurs of the industry.

Félix Estrada

Creative Director of e-commerce of the Spanish fashion brand Adolfo Domínguez.

He has worked with some of New York's most respected creative directors, including Doug Lloyd, Michael Ian Kaye, Carin Goldberg, Edward Leida and Robert Priest.

For ten years, Felix has worked on a variety of fashion and luxury projects for brands such as Cole Haan, Estée Lauder, Valentino, Escada, The Standard Hotel, Club Monaco, and others. Felix has also designed pages for W Magazine, W Jewelry, the Italian fashion magazine Flair and Condé Nast Portfolio.

  • Admission process : -Curriculum Vitae -Profile including 10-12 projects, in pdf format. - Motivation letter explaining why the student would like to become a graphic designer specialising in fashion and luxury. -Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. - Basic understanding of typography and graphic design principles. -Personal interview, if deemed necessary by the program coordinator.
