The Postgraduate Course in Design of Exhibition Spaces is structured around two central axes: cultural exhibition spaces and corporate exhibition spaces, also called commercial spaces. They can be permanent or ephemeral, and their range of presentations is varied, from visitor reception centres, interpretation centres, museums, temporary exhibitions, stands in trade fairs, brand exhibitions, expo pavilions, etc.
We focus on the staging of the exhibition space itself, giving it a new dimension and narrative quality, creating and reinventing new liveable environments that communicate content. The space itself is dramatized. The scenography of cultural exhibitions must create narrative spaces as a form of communication and learning, the creation of a plastic narrative against the linearity of the encyclopaedic museum exhibition. Corporate exhibition spaces, at fairs, conferences, etc. are currently one of the most powerful means of communicating the visual identity and information of brands and companies.
From the teaching point of view, this master's degree aims above all to offer the student the opportunity to approach the work and vision of great professionals from the field of exhibition scenography, promoting reflection and analysis, learning and enjoying the experience of the teachers and collaborators of the course. The aim is to create and reinvent living environments that communicate content, specialising in the design of cultural and commercial spaces.
This course is part of the Master in Stage and Exhibition Spaces Design that takes place in the IED Madrid during an academic year. Students can complete the master's degree, addressing the issues of performing arts, design and production for events and TV, the design of exhibition spaces or the three courses independently.
This Postgraduate Course is part of the Master in Stage and Exhibition Spaces Design, a program that consists of three modules that can be studied independently.
